Why Adopt-A-Bat?

You can help bats tremendously by adopting an orphaned or injured bat. Every year hundreds of bats become orphaned and injured and the Organization for
Bat Conservation is one of the few organizations that is actively helping bats.

We have roughly 100 bats at our facility. With so many injured, orphaned, and zoo animals to feed you can imagine what our grocery bill is
(it exceeds $7,000 each year).

The Organization for Bat Conservation's bats already receive the best medical care and nutritious food they need, BUT, by supporting an animal for a year,
you will allow us to use the funds that would have gone toward that animal to further conservation efforts for bats world-wide.

By adopting a bat from the Organization for Bat Conservation you will receive:

• Information sheet about bats

• A picture of your bat

• Full-color bat poster
(see photos below-you will receive one of these two posters, if you have a specific one you would like, we would be happy to honor it!)

• A special certificate

• A behind the scenes invitation to see your bat!

Vampire Bat
To know Wizard, our tamest vampire bat, is to lover her. I know this sounds silly, her being a vampire bat and all, but she is really sweet. She enjoys coming out for programs, loves to jump and hop around her cage, and has even appeared on such shows as Martha Stewart Living!

$35

Big Brown Bat
Radar is one of the best looking big brown bats you will ever meet. Perfectly groomed with long silky brown fur. Also a joy to use in programs, echolocating and spreading wings when asked.
Radar came to OBC because her wing had been broken, her wing was set in a cast, but still did not heal correctly. However, Radar is one of OBC's best loved bat ambassador.
