Sponsor A Scout

Support the Scouts!

Every year OBC is contacted by dozens of Life Scouts working on their
Eagle Scout Leadership Project. Upon completion of their Eagle Scout
Leadership Project these scouts will be recognized as a group of men
who are outstanding in all that scouting represents.

To complete this task, the scouts need to choose a project that will benefit the
community. More and more scouts are choosing bat house projects to
help with wildlife conservation and to help control insect pests in
their communities. Due to limited funds we are restricted in how much
we can help. If you would like to help OBC’s ability to assist these
dedicated young men, in their bat conservation community project,
please donate now! Donations will allow us to offer more support and materials
to the scouts that contact us.

Update June, 2009

Scouts in Bat ConservationOBC would like to congratulate Ian Shackleford on the successful completion of his Eagle Scout project. Ian showed great leadership
skills in planning and organized the installment of 5 bat houses in
Orchard Lake Nature Sanctuary. Ian contacted OBC for information on
bat house placement and as source of bat houses. Not only did Ian lead
others in the bat house installment, he also educated the community on
the importance of bats, as well as collecting donated items from our
wish list. Scouts like Ian working on their Eagle Scout project are
great assets to their community and the leaders of tomorrow.
Great Job Ian!!
