  1. This is an excellent product. I bought two of these and placed them on a 6 X 6 post with the opening at 24′. Site selection, positioning, paint colors, are very important for success with bat houses, and there is very good information out there about this.

The workmanship is excellent and made to exacting standards for successful attraction of bats. They are well worth the modest price of $95.00 given the methods and materials used to achieve optimum success. I posted my bathouses too late in the year to have success, but the following spring we had 60 bats growing to a colony of 150, and in the second year, we had over 200 bats in one of the houses. The bats used it as a nursery, and we had quite a few babies amongst the colony within a few months.

Unfortunately, I had to move and could not take the bat houses with me to my new home. I left them in place for the next homeowner, but unfortunately they destroyed them and tore them down. Ignorance!

I have just purchased a new home where I plan to put up additional houses as soon as I have the finances available to purchase, and I plan to buy 6 of these bat houses this time, hoping to help re-energize the devastated bat populations.
